A collaboration between Piaggio Group and (RED) has lead to the creation of (VESPA)RED, a red-clad Vespa scooter that fights HIV/AIDS with every purchase. Now, anyone who chooses a (VESPA 946)RED proudly joins Piaggio in helping to fight this deadly virus. (RED) demonstrates the collective power of consumers to fight a preventable, treatable disease — AIDS. Founded by Bono and Bobby Shriver in 2006, (RED) was created to deliver a sustainable flow of money from companies to the Global Fund, to further the AIDS fight. It also generates awareness around the disease to keep it on the public agenda. In the ten years since its founding, (RED) has generated more than $360 million for the Global Fund impacting over 70 million people — 100% of that money has gone to finance HIV/AIDS programs on the ground in Africa.
The name says it all. The Primavera (RED) is a homage not only to the incredible work carried out by the (RED) initiative but also the revolutionary spirit that has always been at the heart of Vespa, the brand that reinvented the way we get about. With its top to toe livery in stunning red, it’s clear that this set of two wheels is not only bold and daring but also generous and unique.
Vespa and (RED) have partnered together to create the Primavera (RED). A contribution from every bike sold will allow (RED) to provide more than 500 days of lifesaving HIV medication which helps prevent mothers living with the virus from passing it on to their unborn babies
It was the 1970s when the Vespa Primavera burst onto the scene like a breath of fresh air. The world was changing and its two wheels and engine combo was greeted with open arms. Today, the Primavera shows it remains in step with the ever-changing times, with new fresh, light lines. And, to its legendary status as an elegant style setter, we can now add a caring spirit of generosity.
